The Cisco Access Point Default Password is – Cisco / Cisco

You could probably have guessed that, but if you are configuring a cisco wireless access point out of the box for the first time you are going to want to know the default password and if you are reading this then you haven’t been able to guess it!

I recently picked up two AIR-LAP1142N access points from eBay that had previously been used with a Cisco Wireless LAN controller. I have an AP AIR-AP1832I-E-K9. Cisco AP 1602l - factory defaults/reset.

Required Cisco AIR-AP1832I-E-K9 firmware. I need firmware of Cisco AIR-AP1832I-E-K9 firmware. Cisco Access Point Default Password

We have already covered the most common question relating to configuring a cisco access point out of the box and that is what is the default password?

Cisco / Cisco – This is case sensitive so make sure you put in capital C’s

Note: this will be different if the access point has already associated to a controller.
It will then use the configured AP password on the controller. This can be found under

WirelessAccess PointsGlobal Configuration Login Credentials

In this case the username has been configured to ap-admin so anyone connecting a console to or using SSH or Telnet to connect to the AP will have to enter ap-admin as the username and the configured password.

I am referring here to enterprise access points like the 1530, 1700, 2700, 3700 series and not Linksys products.

The rest of this post will cover some of most common support questions relating to configuring and administering cisco wireless access points.

Ideal for small and medium-sized networks, the Cisco Aironet 1830 series delivers great wireless performance with support for the advanced Wi-Fi standard, and meets the growing requirements of wireless networks by delivering a better user experience. The 1830 series extends support to a generation of Wi-Fi clients, such as smartphones, tablets, and high-performance laptops that have integrated 802.11ac support. With 802.11ac Wave 2, the 1830 series provides a high data rate, exceeding the data rates offered by high-end 802.11n access points. It also enables a total aggregate dual-radio data rate, providing the necessary foundation for enterprise and service provider networks to stay ahead of the performance and bandwidth expectations and needs of their wireless users. Due to its convenience, wireless access is increasingly the preferred form of network connectivity for corporate users. Along with this shift, there is an expectation that wireless should not slow down users' day-to-day work, but should enable a high-performance experience while allowing users to move freely. The 1830 series delivers amazing performance for highly secure and reliable wireless connections and provides a robust mobility experience.
